The first gastronomic gin. When 2 companies with shared passions about ingredients meet, beautiful things happen.
In a joint effort to create the perfect gin Onder de Boompjes set out with awarded chef Jonnie Boer from Restaurant de Librije on a flavour mission. GastroGin is the result of a year of testing, tasting and searching for the perfect ingredients to match Jonnie's kitchen and Onder de Boompjes' distilling skills.
Jonnie Boer is patron-cuisinier (chef-owner) of de Librije in Zwolle and Librije's Zusje in Amsterdam which is currently listed #21 on the independent LaListe of the world's best restaurants and has accumulated 5 Michelin stars over 2 restaurants. Furthermore, Jonnie is recognized as #23 chef of the world by Le Chef Magazine.
Onder de Boompjes, founded in 1658, is the oldest family-owned distillery in the Netherlands taking pride in using the freshest ingredients, the highest standards and constantly innovating to bring something unique to all.

A gin to challenge your palate. In pursuit of a gin that would captivate Jonnie Boer's favourite flavours, ones that are fresh, real and genuine, it led to a culmination of an exquisite and daring mix of 5 types of pepper sourced in every corner of the world, carefully blended with 4 types of citrus and local fennel. All this based on a solid mix of gin-style botanicals.
The flavour is citrus at the start, directly followed by pepper. The aftertaste will leave you with a mouthful of sweet fennels.
